Buttercream Recipe:
- Mix 50g of powdered flavouring into 1kg of sifted plain icing sugar and combine well.
- Beat 500g of room-temperature unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the icing sugar mix to the butter.
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of hot water to the mix and beat until light and smooth. If preferred, add 2-3 tablespoons of milk, cream or condensed milk.
Other Recipes:
- Mix your flavoured sachet with sifted plain icing sugar to make up the required amount (50g of flavouring to 1kg of plain icing sugar makes 1kg).
- To allow flavouring to infuse into the icing sugar, add to a ziplock bag or airtight container for at least 24 hours before using the recipe.
- When using in recipes, simply replace the quantity of sugar required in the recipe with the flavoured icing sugar (prepared as above). This can be used in a huge range of recipes, including cakes, cupcakes, frostings, fudge, ice cream, brownies, biscuits, marshmallows, meringues, sweets, truffles, chocolate, milkshake, smoothies, scones, pancakes, caramel and so many more.
